Infectious Diseases/Bloodborne Pathogens (English)

This course is designed to teach hazard recognition and abatement procedures for communicable infectious diseases. The primary focus is identification of common viruses that are easily transmitted through direct and indirect contact in the work environment and the engineering controls that can help to abate the probability of an exposure that manifests into illness. Attendees learn to deploy universal precautions during routine activities and the appropriate use of PPE when interacting with an injured team member or cleaning up after a significant injury in the workplace.
