The American Red Cross CPR program helps participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. The program teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

At the end of training, participants will be able to:

  • Know how to recognize an emergency and prioritize care for injuries and sudden illnesses.
  • Know how to check a conscious person for life-threatening and non-life-threatening conditions.
  • Identify signals of shock and help minimize its effects.
  • Recognize the signals of a cardiac emergency.
  • Know how to care for a heart attack victim.
  • Explain the role of CPR in cardiac arrest.
  • Demonstrate how to perform CPR.
  • Recognize the signals of a breathing emergency.

If you are interested in registering for a Spanish version of the CPR class please email the ARCA office at arca@azroofing.org with a request. The class will be scheduled based on the demand/need.
